I don’t know what to say to this news, so I shall present it without comment: A duet between Justin Bieber and the late Michael Jackson is set to be released.

Have we all finished laughing or screaming in abject terror? Let’s look at the details.

L.A Reid, head of Epic Records, has confirmed plans to release the single in the near future, which is likely to be some form of their previous collaboration Slave 2 The Rhythm, which was leaked online last year. Now, following the posthumous release of Jackson’s album Xscape this week, L.A Reid has spoken out about his feelings about what form the Bieber/Jackson single could take.

“I signed Justin, so I feel a loyalty. I feel like I should protect him. That’s my relationship with him,” said Reid.

Slave 2 The Rhythm didn’t include him per my direction. If it hadn’t been leaked, it would have been featured but it sort of took the wrong turn. But you know what? We’re gonna revisit that and do something really special with Justin Bieber and Michael.”

This sounds truly terrifying. Bieber needs no encouragement. The guy already thinks he’s Michael Jackson reincarnate, and the release of this single will only mean he’s all over my radio and TV. Ugh.

Anyway, the new Michael Jackson Album Xscape features eight previously unreleased tracks produced by Timbaland and Stargate and is hotly tipped to top the UK album charts this week. Another Jackson collaboration with a Justin- Timberlake this time- can be seen below in the video for Love Never Felt So Good…and the song is really rather good. Enjoy.
