Marvel-ous News: ‘Agents Of SHIELD’ Season Two Renewed And ‘Agent Carter’ Series Picked Up

I cannot even contain my excitement at the moment.

With only one episode left, ABC has decided to formally renew Agents of SHIELD for a second season. Was I surprised? Uh, never. I’ve been banking on a second season since the first episode. I think you can call me pretty obsessed.

While most blog sites which report on ratings were bemoaning the drop in numbers from week to week, I was the one digging deeper and noticing patterns others weren’t pointing out.

I won’t go into detail right now because it’ll just show what a complete nerd I am. Let’s just say SHEILD has been consistently beating stalwart CBS show NCIS in the demographics from the beginning.

No shade thrown at CBS, I promise.

This renewal comes on the heels of the renewals of such ABC programming as Scandal, Once Upon a Time, The Goldbergs, and Castle.

Also on the roster for the new season, beginning sometime in September, is Marvel’s Agent Carter starring Haley Atwell as Peggy Carter from the Captain America series. Fans of the badass agent will definitely be thrilled about that.
