We hope all our fellow Star Wars lovers had a great May the Fourth yesterday, and here’s a treat for all of you: Star Wars: Episode VII director JJ Abrams shared a short video yesterday in which he hinted at more casting announcements.

In the 23-second clip, which Abrams called a “video selfie”, the director appeared with fellow Star Wars writer Lawrence Kasdan and gave a very subtle hint at more casting news:

“So as casting announcements continue and the production ramps up we would just like to wish you a very happy… Star Wars Day” he says.

Back at you, Mr. Abrams!

This clip gives more hope to those of us who are expecting more female roles in this new adventure in a galaxy far far away. As you remember, the principal cast was announced earlier this week, with Andy Serkis, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver and Max von Sydow. Joining the new cast are the original Star Wars actors Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

“We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make fans proud”, Abrams said when the announcement was made.

But just two women in the principal cast? Really? Don’t let me down, Abrams! While I have no doubt that Daisy Ridley can kick major ass and we all know Carrie Fisher can too, it would be magnificent if we could have more women in this new adventure. Also, anyone else curious (and excited) about what Andy Serkis will bring to this film?

Star Wars: Episode VII will be released on December 18th, 2015.

In the meantime, keep your eyes and ears open for more casting announcements (and make your bets!).
