UPDATED

At the CW upfronts in New York City an extended trailer for The Flash has been released which is a whopping five minutes long. Check out the start of Grant Gustin’s journey as Barry Allen below, as well as a special appearance from Stephen Amell of Arrow!

Well, it’s official.

I’m completely, utterly stoked for The Flash after seeing this glimpse of Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, having a little “play time” with Oliver Queen/Arrow. I was already pretty damn excited from seeing him in the Arrow episodes which served as a backdoor pilot for the spinoff series. Then seeing the photos of him in the costume, but actually seeing a live action sequence just made my fangirl heart go all aflutter!

I’m a big fan of comic book adaptations for the silver screen. In my opinion, nobody does it better than the CW. I watched every second of all ten seasons of Smallville, and Arrow stole my heart as soon as it began. I expect it to be no different with The Flash.

Knowing that Geoff Johns is behind the wheel and steering this show where it needs to go just strengthens my faith that it will be absolutely amazing and worth tuning in for each week! I’m also thoroughly convinced they picked exactly the right person to portray Barry Allen. Grant Gustin is a joy to watch and I am really looking forward to seeing him bring The Flash to life!

The CW has released an official description for the new show along with the release of the teaser trailer.

“After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become…The Flash.”

Ahhhh! So excited!!!!!!! Before I start fangirling again, here’s the trailer!
