The superhero world keeps expanding and Fantastic Four might have a new cast member: Tim Blake Nelson.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Lincoln actor is in final talks to join Josh Trank’s reboot as subterranean villain the Mole Man.

Nelson will play Harvey Elder, best known as Mole Man, the very first enemy of the Fantastic Four in Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s comic back in 1961. Ignored by society due to his diminutive appearance and lack of social skills, Mole Man became the leader of a subterranean group of monsters best known as the Moloids.

It’s not the first time Nelson has been a part of the Marvel universe, as he played Dr. Samuel Sterns (The Leader) in the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk.

The main cast for The Fantastic Four is formed by Miles Teller (Reed Richards, “Mr. Fantastic”), Kate Mara (Sue Storm, “Invisible Woman”), Michael B. Jordan (Johnny Storm, “the Human Torch”), Jamie Bell (Ben Grimm, “the Thing”), and Toby Kebbell as Doctor Doom.

Some rumours floating around say Mole Man will not be part of the movie, therefore his appearance would set up the character to be a villain in future sequels; however, Fox hasn’t commented on this.

Details about the plot are still unknown, aside from the fact that it’s an origin story based on the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic, which tells a different origin with a much younger team.

Fantastic Four, directed by Josh Trank and written by Simon Kinberg, will be released on June 18th, 2015 in the UK and June 19th in the US.

How do you feel about this reboot?
I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt.
