Yesterday we found out who else will be joining the cast of BAFTA award winning drama Broadchurch, and today we have been treated to the first glimpse of the new cast.

The read through for episode one of the drama, which stars David Tennant and Olivia Colman, is happening today, and the lovely people over at ITV have shared a couple of pictures showing the assembled cast.

The relaxed and generally smiling cast, which includes Eve Myles, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and James D’Arcy, look ready and raring to go on the drama which will start filming on the Dorset coast later this month. I have to say the person that made me laugh the most is returning cast member Arthur Darvill, who my friends and I dubbed “King of the Derp face” during his recent West End run of Once. Seriously though, he makes the same bemused and confused look every time he is in the crosshairs of a camera lens.

The show’s creator Chris Chibnall has asked that local residents do not post spoilers for anything they see being filmed in Dorset and South Somerset. I heartily agree with this, because one of the great things about the first series of Broadchurch was the lack of spoilers and the genuine sense of excitement viewers got at not knowing what was about to happen.
