It has been reported that War Horse star Toby Kebbell is in negotiations to take the villain role in Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot.

According to Deadline the actor, “…will play Doctor Doom, aka Viktor von Doom, a genius scientist who has a history with the superhero quartet’s lead Reed Richards (Miles Teller).”

Jack Huston, Domhnall Gleeson, Eddie Redmayne and Sam Riley were all reported to be under consideration for the role but it would appear that Kebbel is Fox’s first choice. According to Variety, “If the deal makes, Kebbell would join Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell in the reboot that plans to shoot this spring.”

The film will be based on the Marvel The Ultimate Fantastic Four, which focuses on the characters as young men and woman. Josh Trank will direct the film with Simon Kinberg, Matthew Vaughn and Gregory Goodman as producers.

The Fantastic Four is set for release June 19th 2015 with the sequel due in summer 2017.

Fox has yet to officially announce Kebbell’s attachment to the film but with everything pointing to him, it is only a matter of time.
