It just can’t be a Marvel movie without a cameo from Stan Lee!
Despite previous denials from the man himself, Stan Lee will definitely make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy.
Back in January, Stan Lee said he would not make his usual cameo, stating: “I didn’t write Guardians of the Galaxy. I’m not even sure who they all are. I can’t wait to see the movie”. Thankfully, he changed his mind.
According to Variety, the former chairman of Marvel Comics (and creator of many of our favourite superheroes), said at the Chicago Expo c2e2 that he recently filmed his role:
“I did, already. I can’t tell you what it is, but I can tell you I do not understand what it was or why I did it. It has me with a girl – a very pretty girl – that’s all I can tell you” he answered when a fan asked whether or not he would do a cameo.
Even though he did not create Guardians of the Galaxy, he is credited alongside Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers in the creation of the character Groot, a member of this group of misfits.
Guardians of the Galaxy, directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper will hit cinemas on August 1st.
I absolutely love playing “spot Stan Lee” on every Marvel movie, so I’m really happy that he decided to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy.
