Be prepared to cry.
The extended trailer for The Fault in our Stars is here and it stirs up a whole range of emotions, as the film looks set to take us on a whirlwind ride of friendship, love, romance and heartbreak. Based on the massively popular novel by John Green, The Fault In Our Stars tells the story of Hazel Grace, played by Shailene W0odley and Gus (Ansel Elgort), both teenagers dealing with the effects of cancer.
Hazel has thyroid cancer which has spread to her lungs while Gus is in remission following the amputation of his leg, only Hazel looks set to be losing her battle, causing her to emotionally distance herself from Gus at first, telling him “I’m a grenade, and one day I’m going to blow up. I’m going to obliterate everything in my wake, and I don’t want to hurt you.”
But Gus has already captured her heart, and gives her “a forever within the numbered days.” Yep. Told you it was a tear jerker.
John Green’s original novel has sold over 1million copies since its release.
The Fault in our Stars will be released on June 6 in the US, and June 20 in the UK. Watch the extended trailer below.
