Our pleas may have been listened to and a series about Agent Peggy Carter might be happening soon!

According to Deadline, there is a prototype of an Agent Carter project, inspired by a one-shot that can be found on Iron Man 3’s blu-ray extras, and it is believed it could forgo a pilot and go directly to series. The pick-up of this series may coincide with a renewal for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The script for Agent Carter, written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (the minds behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier) was finished more than three months ago, and ABC boss Paul Lee has stated that “the script is great”.

This series would be a bridge between the fall and spring breaks of S.H.I.E.L.D and would air as a limited series.
It would be set in 1946 during the early days of S.H.I.E.L.D, following Peggy’s struggle for respect from her superiors.

Hayley Atwell, our beloved Peggy Carter, is open to reprise her role: “The one-shot was so successful, the fanbase were like, ‘We want more of Peggy!’ I think Marvel probably take that very seriously, and it’s certainly something I would be a part of doing”, she told Digital Spy last year.

We recently saw the return of Peggy in Captain America: the Winter Soldier, and she may or may have not made us shed a tear.

Who else wants to see an Agent Carter series?
