The wait is finally over for Lana Del Rey fans as the star has released her brand new single and the first song from her upcoming album, Ultraviolence. The song is called “West Coast” and the audience in attendance at her Las Vegas show on Friday were treated to the first hearing of the song as she performed snippets of it acapella.
Before actually performing parts of the song, Lana debated with her live band whether she should do it or not but then decided to do it unaccompanied. Some of the lyrics performed at the venue were, “Down on the West Coast, they got a sayin’, if you’re not drinkin’ then you’re not playing. But you put the music, you put the music in you.”
However, the track premiered on Fearne Cotton’s BBC Radio 1 morning show this morning (April 14). The track is now available to listen on YouTube with a repeating short-clip of the singer on a beach with who we presume is a former lover of hers.
Check out the video below to listen to the song and let us know what you think of it! Was this the sound you were expecting her to use for her new work?
