When Disney released their action adventure figure driven console game Disney Infinity last September, it became an instant hit, and now with Infinity 2.0 things are starting to get interesting – The Avengers are on their way.

For those who don’t know what this game is all about, the idea is simple; you play the game with actual figures which react to the game via the use of a receptive base plate which can be added to.  Various game sets were launched using characters from hit Disney movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, The Incredibles, Toy Story and Frozen just to name a few.

Players can either keep the game sets separate or they can make a mega Disney universe where Captain Jack and Woody can interact with each other. I know which way I would play it, just saying.

However, today Marvel are teasing us that it’s time to “Bring on the Super Heroes”.  It has been long rumoured that the Marvel world would be joining Infinity and with 2.0 it appears this is going to happen.  There is no news at the moment as to when we can expect Cap and the crew to be released, however as a fan of Disney and Marvel, this news is awesome.

That video is enough to make me want to go and buy a games console, and who knows I just might.  I just need to watch Captain America and Buzz Lightyear join forces because that would take “To Infinity and Beyond” to a whole other level.

Stay tuned for updates as they come in.

Disney Infinity is available for X-Box 360, Playstation 3, Wii, Wii U and PC.
