The teaser trailer arrived during the Super Bowl, then came the character posters (which you can see below) and now we have the first official trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Featuring an all new cast and shiny new designs to the robots, the new Transformers introduces us to struggling mechanic Cade Yeager and his daughter Tessa, who stumble across an old wreck of a rig and decide to scrap it for parts. It’s not until Cade discovers that the metal he is pilfering is not from this world, that he realises his supposed “wreck” is in fact the injured Freigtliner Cab-over-engine Class 8 truck, Optimus Prime.
Full of Autobots, Decepticons, Dinobots, and other non-humanoid Cybertronians the trailer launches head first into the battle of the century.
Four years after the catastrophic events in Chicago, Earth has mostly recovered from the great war between the Autobots and the Decepticons. But when Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), a struggling inventor, and his daughter Tessa (Nicola Peltz) discover Optimus Prime, they bring down Decepticons, Autobots and the US government on them. Now with the Decepticons plotting to destroy the Earth once again, and a paranoid government official (Kelsey Grammer) on his tail, Cade must join the Autobots, and Optimus Prime must align with the ancient Dinobots, to save Earth from extinction.
To say that I am stupidly excited to see this movie would be a drastic understatement. I mean, I grew up watching the Transformer cartoons on TV and while some of the other Transformer films (I’m looking at you, Dark Side Of The Moon) didn’t really do much for me, the promise of a new cast, Dinobots and Mark Wahlberg, makes me very happy.
Check out the character posters below, but first… The trailer.
