It’s going to be a long year! Although the sequel to 2012’s Marvel’s Avengers Assemble sadly isn’t due out until 2015, the cast and crew took to the streets of Aosta in Italy this week for filming. You can check out a gallery of images from set below, the most exciting featuring the two newest additions to the Marvel cinematic universe, twin team Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
The duo, played by Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson respectively, are the estranged children of Magneto, and have special powers as they’re mutants. As the name suggests, Scarlet Witch has the power of magic and can manipulate probabilities, whereas Quicksilver is really really fast! There is some conflict over their inclusion, however, as Fox owns the rights to the X-Men franchise, and therefore the whole idea of ‘mutants’, meaning a lot of their background probably won’t be mentioned in the film. As well as this, a totally different actor, Evan Peters, will be portraying Quicksilver in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.
These new Marvel set photos, however, also feature Jeremy Renner reprising his role as Hawkeye, the man at the helm of it all Joss Whedon, as well as what is being speculated as the titular villain Ultron (before CGI). Take a look below and let us know what you think!
Marvel’s The Avengers: Age Of Ultron is due to hit cinemas May 1, 2015.
