Current Spider-Man Andrew Garfield has expressed a desire for an appearance in an Avengers movie!

As most comic-book lovers should know, Spider-Man was actually a part of the Avengers group. However, because of film rights, making that happen will be very difficult. It seems only right that the web-spinning superhero features in future Avengers films so hopefully someone can make it happen! As of right now, Sony own the rights to Spider-Man and Disney own the right to The Avengers and all of its characters.

Garfield spoke to Yahoo about the idea of joining The Avengers and said, “I would love that. I know that the fans would love that, the fans of the Marvel universe… the more the merrier, the bigger the better… I say ‘never say never’, you know. I think everyone would love to see that.” Yes! Yes we would!

It seems the feeling is mutual between other members of the Spider-Man team as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 director, Mark Webb (I know, right?) also spoke out in interest for a crossover mega-movie. He said, “There’s efforts that were made [to make a crossover cameo happen], but obviously nothing came to fruition. I would love that, as a fan, I think that would be great. I don’t know how that would happen, but I certainly would be supportive of it.”

For now, all we can do is enjoy the upcoming movies in both series separately and dream that one day it will happen! The Amazing Spider-Man 2 comes out April 18 this year and you can check out the extended trailer below!
