Ron and Hermione’s Marriage Would Probably Last After Counselling, Says Rowling

Okay, we’re still trying to get over the fact that our favourite author from childhood, J.K Rowling, controversially revealed that she originally wanted know-it-all bad-ass Hermione Granger to end up with the plot’s main character, Harry Potter!

Although the published story builds up a relationship between Hermione and Ron Weasley, which ended up in a marriage, Rowling recently stated in an interview with Emma Watson (who plays Hermione in the film adaptations) that she personally wanted Harry to marry Hermione. Fans were shocked as we are so used to seeing Hermione and Ron bickering endlessly but secretly falling deeper and deeper in love.

Even though this childhood-distorting bomb was dropped on us, Rowling followed up  the revelation in the interview by clarifying that Hermione and Ron’s marriage would probably last after some couple-counselling.

The billionaire author said they weren’t exactly a “credible” couple. But, this was for “reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.”

She continued, “They’ll probably be fine. He needs to work on his self-esteem issue, and she needs to work on being a little less critical.”

It has also been confirmed by J.K that there are plans to create a stage play based on the record-thrashing novels. However, it is said that the play will be based on Harry’s life before the story of the novels. Obviously, we also have the new book in the works based on the wizarding world away from Harry Potter’s story.

Phew! Wand in the air if you’re experiencing a lot of feels right now.
