Jaimie Alexander is set to appear as Lady Sif in the March 11 episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and today we got a first look, thanks to TV Guide.
According to executive producer, Jed Whedon, “We always have our radar up for ways to tie our series into the Marvel films and bringing in an Asgardian really cements that connection. Lady Sif comes here on a hunting mission – sent by Odin – to find her arch-enemy Lorelei and bring her back to Asgard. It throws our agents for a loop when they find themselves in a fight alongside this powerful woman from Thor’s world.”
Lorelei is described as “a deadly, flame-tressed vixen from the Thor comics,” who will catch the attention of the men on the show.
This isn’t the first time a character from the Marvel movies has appeared in the series, but it’s the first time the character has a major role in the episode. Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson have made cameos as Agent Hill and Director Fury.
I’m very excited; I didn’t even know Sif was set to appear in the show at all. I really like her character and was happy to see that she had a bigger role in Thor: The Dark World. I’m looking forward to see how the group reacts to seeing their second Asgardian and how Lady Sif reacts to being on Earth. I know the show has had a rough go of it ratings wise, but I really enjoy it. Is it March 11th yet?
Are you looking forward to seeing Lady Sif on the Bus with Agent May and the rest of the team?
