Behold! The Scarlet Speedster in costume as the first image from CW’s The Flash is revealed. Grant Gustin is Barry Allen, the brilliant scientist who was struck by lightning and became endowed with the power of super-speed. According to Warner Brothers, production of the show is set to begin next week.
The spectacular looking costume was designed by three-time Academy Award winner Colleen Atwood, who worked on such films as, Alice in Wonderland, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Chicago. Fans of CW’s Arrow may recognize her work, as she also designed the Emerald Archer’s signature look.
Joining Gustin on The Flash are: Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order), Tom Cavanagh (Ed), Danielle Panabaker (Shark), Rick Cosnett (Vampire Diaries), Candice Patton (The Game) and Broadway star Carlos Valdes. I for one am very excited to see The Flash make his small screen debut. The two episode story arch on Arrow which introduced Allen, were some of the best episodes in the series to date and made from some really incredible television. Also, Tom Cavanagh is back! Yes, I was a sucker for the show Ed.
